Nurse Staffing Factors, Fatigue, and Work-related Stress among Emergency Department Nurses During COVID-19 Pandemic

Aims : This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurse staffing factors, fatigue, and stress among emergency department (ED) nurses during pandemic. Design Descriptive, correlation, cross sectional approach. Methods Using cross-sectional design, a total of 113 ED in Indonesia selected by convenience sampling completed survey on Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) Expanded Nursing Stress (ENSS). Data analysis included descriptive statistics bivariate analysis. Results Nurse factors were not significantly associated with (r = -0.07-0.16, p > 0.05). correlated domain death dying 0.19, < 0.05), problems relating supervisors workload 0.26, 0.01) patients/families 0.25, 0.01), overall 0.21, Conclusions The more severe fatigue suffered, worse they experienced. rotation pandemic should be readjusted accordance current hospital situation. Organizing counseling programs support group through online meetings can share their difficulties experiences prevent them from feeling isolated.
